GE Aviation S400 Program

A2LA provides accreditation for certified materials testing laboratories (CMTLs) to meet the requirements of GE Aviation S400.

Through a cooperative arrangement, A2LA is recognized by GE Aviation to provide accreditation for certified materials testing laboratories (CMTLs) that are seeking to meet the requirements of GE Aviation S400.

To obtain A2LA accreditation for GE S400 testing activities, each laboratory must first apply with, be assessed by and obtain approval from GE Aviation as a Certified Materials Test Laboratory (CMTL). Following initial approval from GE Aviation, CMTLs may apply to A2LA for accreditation.

This specialty program is covered under A2LA's Mechanical field of testing.

Program Requirements

  • ISO/IEC 17025 General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories
  • A2LA-specific requirements that reflect the GE Aviation S400 program criteria.
  • GE Aviation Special Process Certificate
  • Optional Requirements for the Accreditation of Field Work
    • A2LA also offers additional requirements for laboratories performing tests in the field (i.e., at other than a permanent laboratory site).
