A2LA’s sampling field of accreditation can apply to any sampling done for subsequent testing.
Accreditation can be offered to testing laboratories that wish to also be accredited for the sampling that they are performing. Stand-Alone Sampling Organizations (SASOs) can also be accredited to ISO/IEC 17025. SASOs do not perform the subsequent testing as that would ultimately done by the laboratory.
- ISO/IEC 17025 General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories
- Laboratories that sample in addition to testing should refer to the requirements in their respective field of testing.
- SASOs have no additional requirements. However, A2LA has created a requirements document for these organizations to further clarify what existing A2LA policies apply to them.
