A2LA Welcomes New Staff - September 2017

On July 10th, A2LA welcomed Ms. Tiffany Gee as the new Government Affairs Administrator. Tiffany joined A2LA after spending several years working as a contract specialist. Most recently she worked at Southeastern Computer Consultants in Frederick, MD. Tiffany earned her B.A in Political Science from Tufts University, Medford, MA. She also earned a certification in Contracts Management from George Washington University.
This past August, A2LA welcomed Mr. Takashi Arai from IA Japan as part of a one year cultural exchange program! Over the course of the next year, Takashi will be participating in a work-related study as well as team building activities outside of the office to learn more about A2LA and American culture overall. Takashi will also be teaching A2LA staff about his culture and what his experience has been like working in the accreditation industry.
Takashi holds a 4-year and Master’s degree in Geology and a PhD in Environmental Science. He has been with IA Japan since 2003 and has a variety of experience working with calibration, testing, reference material producers and product certification programs. He also has experience serving as a peer evaluator.
On September 11th, A2LA welcomed Mr. Thomas Tovey to the A2LA Executive Team, as the new Director of Finance and IT!
Mr. Tovey earned his BS in Accounting from Syracuse University and his MBA with a concentration in corporate finance from Johns Hopkins. Tom has over 26 years of experience in finance, leadership and process improvement. Before deciding to join A2LA, Tom spent 14 years working at Bimbo Bakeries, USA as a Regional Operations Controller. Prior to that he gained his experience in leadership roles working at Marconi Federal, Eaton Corporation, and TECT Aerospace. In his free time, Tom likes to go hiking with his family and ride his motorcycle.
We are excited to have Tiffany, Takashi and Tom on the A2LA Team!
