Reference Materials Producers Accreditation Program

The A2LA Reference Materials Producer Accreditation Program demonstrates competence by formal compliance with a set of internationally-recognized criteria.

The program also provides users of reference materials, such as testing and calibration laboratories, with increased confidence that relied-upon reference materials are being produced in accordance with specified technical and management system requirements and are of appropriate quality.

On November 1, 2016, ISO 17034:2016 became publicly available. The Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC) has implemented a three-year transition period from the date of publication.

As such, all APLAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) signatories, including A2LA, must accredit their Reference Material Producers (RMPs) to ISO 17034:2016 no later than November 1, 2019.

There is an increasing need for reference material producers to support cannabis and hemp testing laboratories. For more information, please visit A2LA’s cannabis testing accreditation program page.
